In “They Live”, a cult classic film written and directed by John Carpenter, we are introduced to “Nada”, a construction worker who’s arrived in Los Angeles to seek work, having hitched a train from Denver, after that city has suffered a severe economic collapse. He finds work at a construction site and meets Frank Armitage, who helps Nada find shelter in a squatter’s village near a church. Through a serendipitous series of events, and enough curiosity to kill a cat, George discovers that the world “as we know it” is far worse than it seems and that truth is being actively suppressed from most of humanity, and decides to take action...
