In Today’s Industry News… Rumour has it Seven is planning to mark the 100th centenary of Gallipoli next year with a 9 part series with the working title, GALLIPOLI VC HEROES. Each episode will re-enact the story of a Victoria Cross hero using actors. Amongst the Australian recipients of VCs at Gallipoli were Frederick Tubb, Hugo Throssell, William Symons and Alfred Shout. It’s official. Foxtel has commissioned not one but two new seasons of Channel Seven’s popular period drama A PLACE TO CALL HOME, after it was cancelled earlier this year due to the cost of producing the show. Seven Productions will produce the show for the pay-TV network’s SoHo channel. And the producers of THE FIDELITY FILES have launched a crowdfunding campaign to raise money to attach principal cast and a director. The raunchy comedy is based on US author Jessica Brody’s 2008 novel The Fidelity Files and its 2010 sequel Love Under Cover. The producers say they have initial thoughts for both American and Australian casting and will be approaching them shortly.
