In Today’s Industry News… Screen Australia today announced that $560,000 will be allocated to support 17 screen projects. Development investment will be given to eight new projects: BRONZE, LOST CAT, THE DEATH AND LIFE OF OTTO BLOOM, SHADOW WARRIOR, WAKE WITH ME, TABOO, THE OTHER SIDE OF THE WORLD and THE CHILDREN, along with continued support to nine other titles. Cartoon character BLINKY BILL is getting the big-screen treatment. Ryan Kwanten will voice the mischievous koala, while Robin McLeavy will play his best friend Nutsy. The supporting cast features Toni Collette, Barry Humphries, David Wenham, Richard Roxburgh, Deborah Mailman and Barry Otto. British actor Rufus Sewell will also take part. Production of the CGI feature film is underway in Sydney. And Josh Thomas has picked up another international award nomination, this time in the International Emmy Awards. PLEASE LIKE ME has been nominated for the Comedy award alongside entries from South Africa, Brazil and Belgium. It is the only Australian entry across 10 categories.
