In Today’s Industry News… Short films director Ryan Unicomb plans to make his feature debut on STREAM OF CONSCIOUSNESS, a sci-fi thriller by American writer J.E. Clarke. The plot revolves around Dr Saul Aaron, who invents technology which makes telepathy possible. The twist: Is the invention a path into the world of the mind or to a far stranger place? The plan is to shoot in Queensland in September Aussie actor Angus Sampson has scored a recurring role in the second season of FARGO. Cast as a member of the Gerhardt crime family in the series inspired by the Coen brothers movie, his character Bear Gerhardt is described as an intimidatingly large, inarticulate man who happens to be the most decent of the clan. AACTA has announced that Cate Blanchett and Deborah Mailman will co-host the AACTA Awards, to be held on January 29, 2015. AACTA also announced that Adam Zwar will replace Angus Sampson as the host of the 4th AACTA Awards Luncheon, to be held on Tuesday 27 January, due to Sampson’s involvement in the second series of Fargo. TV’s annual “night of nights” will take place on Sunday, May 3, at Crown and air on Nine.
