In Today’s Industry News… Six Australian films have been invited to screen at the renowned Sundance Film Festival in 2015. SAM KLEMKE’S TIME MACHINE will have its world premiere in the New Frontier Film section and ASSENT will screen in the New Frontier Installations section. Two short films, THE FACE OF UKRAINE: CASTING OKSANA BAIUL and FOLLOWERS, will premiere to the world in the Sundance Shorts Competition. Previously announced feature films, STRANGERLAND and PARTISAN, will screen in competition in the World Cinema Dramatic program. And Paul Murphy, director of media for the union representing actors, has been promoted to the newly created role of CEO of the Media Entertainment and Arts Alliance (MEAA). Murphy’s appointment comes after the decision earlier this year of veteran MEAA federal secretary Chris Warren to step down after more than two decades in the role, with the union voting to move to a CEO model of leadership.
