In WW II the US Army Engineers had a saying The difficult we do immediately. The impossible will take a little longer. You are about to witness what some may have thought of as impossible, or at the least improbable. I told you the next-step goal of ~6,640~ cards for the Veterans Gift Card Project was a significant number. Do the math: in 2011 = 2,050 cards; in 2012 = 11,310 cards; 2013 when we hit 6,640 cards they add up to 20,000 cards. Now do the multiplication: 20,000 X $5.00 each = $100,000.00. As of right now we are at 6,454 cards for 2013 which means we are 186 cards/$930.00 shy of a total of 20,000 cards/$100.000.00. That is awesome but the fact that the North Indiana Veterans Health Care Service dealt with over 48,500 patients in 2012 keeps me humble. How soon and who will buy card number 20,000?
