In World Cup action the last couple of days I watched host nation Brazil barely get by Chile in overtime on penalty kicks, watched thankfully one of my favorite teams The Netherlands eliminate Mexico 2-1 by scoring twice in the last four minutes to send those insufferable and profane Mexican fans home early, watched Germany beat Algeria in overtime 2-1 and watched France knock out Nigeria 2-0. Tomorrow the USA plays Belgium at 4pm on ESPN and Argentina plays Switzerland. The article I posted indicates that a lot of the worlds fans are now rooting for Team USA as a 2nd choice after their own team because they like the typical American fans optimism, college type of rah rah cheering, enthusiasm and lack of profaneness as compared to fans of other teams. My one real disappointment so far has been England and Australia getting knocked out early but my other four favorite teams are still alive, USA, Germany, The Netherlands, and Argentina.
