In Year 12 Economics students are working hard on their last internal assessment of the year. The 6 credit Government Policy internal requires them to come up with a range of government policies designed to meet a pressing issue. Many of the boys are focused on reducing youth unemployment and improving labour productivity. Some other topics are promotion export led growth to improve the current account balance or promoting sustainable economic growth to raise living standards. They will also have to explain how their policies will affect two other macro-economic issues like trade, employment, inflation or inequality. The planning templates help structure their writing. This is a substantive piece of work which will take them through to the end of the term.
