In a bizarre incident that involved being shaken down by youths associated with a Zimbabwe political group after she used a women’s restroom, trans woman Ricky Nathanson of Bulawayo found herself then turned over to the police who stripped her to ‘confirm her gender’. This was done in the presence of 6 police officers. She was examined again at a hospital and sent to a jail cell after it was determined she was transgender.
