In a busy week a couple of incidents stood out. Around 11 AM on 1/21, a business in the 600 block of Auburn Way South called 911 to report an armed robbery. Officers arrived in the area quickly and located a suspect. A short foot pursuit followed until he was captured. Two additional suspects were located about six blocks away and arrested. At the conclusion of a lengthy investigation, all three alleged suspects were booked into the King County Juvenile Detention Facility. At around 12:45 on 1/21, we received a report of a one car collision at South 277th and Frontage Road. Officers responded to find a vehicle off the roadway. Witnesses saw the driver leave the scene on foot. A plain clothes detective was in the area and located a soaked male walking along the roadway. As the investigation unfolded we learned that the car was reported stolen out of Pacific and that the suspect had entered a nearby business and hidden evidence. While leaving the scene of the accident the suspect tried to jump a large drainage ditch but instead fell in. This explained the soaked pedestrian walking along the roadway. The alleged suspect was arrested.
