In a continued effort to be real instead of plastic, transparent - TopicsExpress

In a continued effort to be real instead of plastic, transparent instead of closed and vulnerable instead of guarded, comes this post.... Its very hard to explain the process that has been unfolding since treatment ended. Slowly but surely, pieces are being picked up and we are living life as normal again. Daily school and homework, busyness has been creeping up on us, Kurts work schedule consistent, etc. We are dealing with behavioral issues with our boys, praying through what the future may hold and continuing to dream big when it comes to reaching others. The process is messy. Its been hard to come out of a life threatening situation and then learn to live normally again. In fact, I didnt want to live normally again because I was afraid that normal would quench the desperation for Jesus that wed tasted. Marriage is messy. And its hard to expound here, except to say that its very hard picking up the pieces together. Weve observed other marriages through these situations, learned the astronomical divorce rate of couples who face pediatric cancer and experienced our own struggles, which has given us a PASSION to come alongside these other families, specifically helping them in strengthening their own marriage (which will be one major goal of our foundation). While on this subject, though, this is an area we could use prayer right now! I remember posting a few months ago and saying, He brings our chaos back into order and sharing that Id started couponing again! It felt so good to feel that normal!! Im excited to celebrate another first post cancer! Yesterday I got to start working out again! :) It felt good. Im sore and ready to do it again today! This may seem small, but its a step that Im thankful for! Sometimes I battle inside posting things like this, but I know if I practice being real, perhaps that will help others do the same. Thanks for allowing the honesty and for praying us through the entire process. We love you all so much!!!
