In a decision made today, Azerbaijan will pump its estimated 1.2 trillion cubic meter gas into European market via pipeline that extends from Baku through Georgia, Turkey, Greece, Albania to Italy. The outflow of Azeri gas into european market means immense amount of wealth inflow to the country and extremely weakened dependence of Europe on the Russian gas. To put it in a more hostile way, Azerbaijani gas will serve as oxygen for the suffocating Europe in the hands of Russia. :) My personal understanding is that the realization of this, as well as the operational Baku–Tbilisi–Ceyhan pipeline would have not been easy, perhaps impossible, without the political will of the United States. So it is worthy to acknowledge this fact as well. #TAP
