In a few short weeks Miss Bethany will have been with us a year. This little girl had been dumped in the pound to live out her senior years. JRTRO spoke for her and she was brought up for hospice care. The day before she was to come they didnt believe she would be strong enough to survive the journey. Well the last year has had many ups and downs and she has bounced back from all the downs. This little girl never ceases to amaze me, she has lost almost all her hearing now, and has only limited sight left in one eye, yet she never feels sorry for herself. This is her reality and it is a good one as far as she is concerned. The last month she has dipped down and I have thought it was time for her to go, but after a few days sleep with only big drinks of water she is once again up and on the go. She will go through cycles where she wont eat and just wants to sleep in the warm bathroom cuddled in blankets and I think we have to face maybe that this is it. Today though once again she was up and after two big bowls of food a big poop and a trot around the deck she stood by the steps waiting for me to come down. It was funny I had come down and was sitting at the computer table and once I called her she came bouncing over to me so full of joy. Little Miss Bs world is so different and yet she takes such joy in what she can do. If she finds me she will bark away with joy and let me know if she wants a treat or she needs her bed changed. I truly love this little girl so much and I am so grateful for every day we do have with her. I have to say her Auntie Dina, is her second fav. person. Well have to admit if Auntie Dina is here I dont exist. LOL
