In a few short weeks we went from 36 horses to 8 horses. The good Lord above knew that we would be pushed to our limit with work and sacrifices that would be have to be made, so homes for 26 horses were found, and just when the time was needed. We got moved, and got settled. Fencing is done, misters installed, quarantine area done, and some beautification for the two legged done. Feed room is set up, shelters put up, small barn being worked on. WORK WORK, never ends, BUT, here at the new and improved Ohana Horse Rescue 501c3 non profit, things are quieter, slower, and it doesnt feel like a job...this is the new home, where we can actually take time to enjoy the horses. We have 5-6 lifers here, and two donkdadonks, which are here to protect the rescues. We cannot forget that they are still rescues, and they need us. Just because their bodies are healthy, doesnt mean that their minds and souls are healed. Our quarantine area has a shelter, and electric fencing, an automatic waterier installed. Hay is just a feed room away. We are working on a much smaller area of property now, but believe it or not, we have so much room. I guess we were not using that much property at the other place...yes it was beautiful to look at, but to have to work it DAILY with the broken fencing and the broken pipes, it became a job, a job that had to be done to maintain proper care for the horses in our care. We were getting run down with all the stress of having to fix problems, not really having the proper amount of time to give each horse more one on one...Well those days are over. Yes we still have jobs here that need to be done, but not fixing...but making better...we have pine needles in this yard, which we all know sheds, so we are raking those up. Amazing thing is, within two days of removing a huge area, we have grass..:) We have acres out back that need a lot of work, but right now the area is fine, and will be there next month and the month after...just in time, and perhaps when it gets cooler... :) I thank the Lord daily for all the stress factors being lessened in our life, because when we are stress free the horses feel the comfort and the ease within their humans..Rosie left today, so this leaves yet another spot for a horse that needs a safe landing. Remember though, we cannot do this without our earth angels. Consider donating today, enjoy, relish in the wonderful feeling you get when you help someone/something less fortunate then yourself. BELIEVE ME, IT IS A WONDERFUL FEELING... The Critter Place Healing Horses One child at a time Inc. RVR Horse Rescue Kares Sanc and ohanahorserescue.org all have lifers that are depending on the earth angels that help.
