In a few weeks Texas blues artist Alan Haynes will take another trip across the pond, to play as guest with danish blues icon Ole Frimer and his band, consisting of Claus Daugaard on drums and Jesper Frost Bylling on bass. Ole and I have been talking about this for years, and now it finally happens. The tour will last about three weeks, and its my fourteenth year with Alan. I should actually get a medal or something :-) Ole Frimers plan is to force Alan to sing more on this tour....and to make both his singing and backing/rhythm abilities to shine.I wish him good luck with the project ha-ha :-) Because, when Alan get a guitar in his hands - hes unstoppable..! I do hope that Ole succeed with his intensions though, because unlike many guitar virtuosos just trying to fill the gaps between solos with some stumbling lyrics, Alan can actually sing..! But hey, if I could play guitar like this; I think I would play my ass off too :-) Some pretty flashy, but to my ears always without lacking soul..! And his use of volume, pickup-switch and tonecontrols as part of his playing, are always worth a study..! And like Alans bassplayer Appa Perry once stated: His timing is impeccable..!
