In a first, not only for Vanuatu but for the whole of the Pacific, the Vanuatu Volleyball Federation, in partnership with the Oceania Sports Education Program (OSEP) has developed a Level 0 volleyball community coaching course. The course was piloted at the Walarano Community Centre in North East Malekula between the 25th April and 2nd May. 15 participants from Malekula, Pentecost and Ambae attended the course. The participants ranged in age from 20 to 40 years old men and women and included teachers, gardeners and youth center volunteers. Overall, the course was a great success, with the participants greatly appreciative not only of the engaging and thoroughly interesting course provided by the knowledgeable, supportive and professional locally trainers OSEP presenters, Belinda and Andrew but also for the equipment generously donated to Walarano by the Vanuatu Volleyball Federation. Thanks to VASANOC for its support to organize the course as well.
