In a lot of ways its been a tough year (especially financially and emotionally) but as another year draws to a close I tend to get a little philosophical. So in that spirit I give you; THE LIST OF COOL THINGS THAT HAVE HAPPENED TO ME IN 2014 (in no particular order of coolness); - Being involved with the Shiva Ashram and hearing the teaching of my guru Mahamandaleshwar Swami Shankarananda. - Doing some more work for Bongo Comics. Which is one of my favourite things. - Playing Lego games on the XBOX with my son. - Being a guest at Armageddon (Melb), Oz Comic Con (Melb, Perth, Adelaide), Supanova (Melb), Oztakufest (Canberra) and Sugar City Con (Mackay) was incredible. - Continuing to work with the Needle and Syringe Program (for 14 years now) and having the opportunity to co-facilitate the M.E.N.S (Men Exploring Non-Violent Solutions) group. - Doing the occasional pic for Penguin Books, Strange Kids Club, Oi Oi Oi. - Drawing at the CREATE fundraiser in Sydney. - I had an absolute blast doing in-stores at All Star Comics, Kings Comics and Classic Comics. - Walking 50km with my daughter as part of the iCan Challenge from Frankston to St Kilda. - Doing some stuff for JOY FM. - Three issues of Itty Bitty Bunnies in Rainbow Pixie Candy Land printed on paper and distributed throughout the world though Action Lab - Danger Zone. And completing the the fourth issue yesterday. - Being married to Kylie Rankine for nearly 19 years. And her getting a job saved our soy bacon. - Nominated for a Ledger and Stanley awards was cool! - Artistically Im really happy with the work Ive been doing and the direction Im taking it. - Taking on the Comic Book Zero challenge (Where Ive been reading lots of great comics). - Writing some comics (that Im not drawing) and seeing the amazing artwork arrive in my inbox. - Speaking at the Heritage Christian College in Port Macquarie . - Accepted as a speaker with Booked Out. - Proud of my kids; Phoebe graduating Primary School (receiving awards/scholarship for English), Hamish completing Grade Prep (His reading/writing has gone through the roof). - And lots of other stuff that I can’t think of right now. - Hope in the future. 2015 is going to be swell!
