The Portuguese winger is currently on loan at boyhood club Sporting for the season, where he has scored five goals in 10 appearances. His scintillating form since returning led newspaper Record to ask the question Is Nani the best player in the Portuguese league?, with 71% of readers answering with a resounding yes. The news will be welcomed by Louis Van Gaal, who it seemed had no use for the so often infuriating winger, who has failed to consistently hit top form in his seven years at Old Trafford. Van Gaal may decide he wants to keep a rejuvenated Nani at the Theatre of Dreams upon his return from Lisbon, or will use his excellent form (should Nani maintain it) to demand a higher asking price for the Portugal international.
