In a murder case during postmortum doctor recovered pallets from the dead body and handed over the same to police. I.O took the same into his possession vide recovery memo but despite of oral instructions from prosecutor did not forward those pallets to PFSA.he arrested the accused and recovered weapon from his possession and forward the accused to judicial lock-up and have prepared challan.now at the time of scrutiny the prosecutor has raised objection that why the pallets recovered from the deadbody of deceased were not sent to PFSA.the I.O replied that as the pallets recovered were of 12 bore and it is the empty which is forwarded to laboratory for matching purpose that weather the same has been fired from a specific weapon or not and not the pellets. He says that it is useless to forward pallets to laboratory because it is not possible to determine whether those pallets were fired from the 12 bore gun recovered from the accused or not.please share your valuable comments that whether the forwarding of those pallets to PFSA was necessary or not?
