In a new article from the Washington Post, proponents of Kansas tax cuts said, “It’s beginning to lead to an increase in prosperity,” - but clearly its not a prosperity being shared with every Kansan. The tax cuts have had far-reaching impacts, including eroding support for a program - Individual Development Accounts - that contributes to the Kansas economy by equipping low-income Kansans with the tools they need to reduce dependence and become self-sufficient. Through the tax cuts passed in 2012, this invaluable resource for vulnerable Kansans saw funding go from $1 million to only $65,000.
