In a new study for the European Parliaments Committee on Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs, Professor Cathryn Costello and Minos Mouzourakis (a graduate of the MSc in Refugee and Forced Migration Studies) examine the workings of the Common European Asylum System. The study, entitled New approaches, alternative avenues and means of access to asylum procedures for persons seeking international protection, argues that a more effective CEAS would involve greater focus on front-line reception services and a streamlined refugee status determination process.
