In a partnership with Alcon to help make Vision Centres in India self-sustainable we facilitated an optical sales and effective supply chain training program recently. 139 Vision Technicians, 41 optical staff and 19 administrators participated enthusiastically in the 2 day program. Vision technicians were trained in sales skills and soft skills to improve the conversion rate (spectacle prescribed Vs spectacles dispensed) and customer satisfaction. Training Vision centre co-ordinators and administrators were trained in supply chain management to reduce the turnaround time in sourcing frames, lenses and grinding. A key outcome of the program was that sales increased by 13%.
