In a police state, non-compliance is a capital offense. That’s the lesson 44 year old Michael Angel Ruiz learned on the last day of his life. He won’t make that mistake again. And to add insult to injury and death, Ruiz’s father is a retired police detective. Mr. Ruiz, for a still unknown reason, had climbed onto the roof of his apartment building in Phoenix, AZ and was acting strangely. A neighbor saw him and called the police. That is the appropriate action most of us would think, but in this case, it was Ruiz’s death sentence. He was tased for non-compliance with officer commands to come down. After being shot by tasers a few times, Ruiz agreed to the officers’ demands and jumped down onto a balcony. He was greeted by an officer who immediately placed Ruiz in a choke hold which lasted for approximately three minutes. The officers then dragged Mr. Ruiz down the stairs, his face thumping loudly against each step as they made their way down. Ruiz was unconscious and unresponsive at the scene by the time the “peace officers” made their way to the bottom with their catch. He was resuscitated at the scene, but was ultimately taken off of life support at the hospital and died. During the entire event, Ruiz never showed any aggression towards anyone, officers or civilians. There was repeated blunt force trauma inflicted to his head and face, choke hold to the point of suffocation and some good old-fashioned electric shock therapy thrown in to make it just that much more fun! Nice job, boys in blue. You saved this guy from accidentally hurting himself or somebody else by killing him. You definitely understand your place in the police state. But he deserved it. He didn’t submit, and we all know that a slave’s first responsibility to his master is complete and total submission. You are the kind of criminals that give the old adage “to protect and serve” a place in the history books. A lot of criminals wear that uniform nowadays, protecting few and serving themselves. Let’s hope these thugs with a badge end up behind bars. A little jail house justice is just what they deserve. MC
