In a post in Target Marketing, Neal Brown writes, The average business doesnt believe they need a copywriter. What he does not understand is that all the top copywriters have as clients companies that value the power of great copy and regularly hire freelance copywriters to produce it. We do NOT waste time trying to convince people who do not hire copywriters to do so. That would be like sending an Omaha Steaks mailing to the subscriber list of Vegetarian Times. Only sell to people who already buy what you are selling. As Gene Schwartz observed in Breakthrough Advertising, educating the market is too expensive and has miserable ROI.
