In a remarkable achievement leading socio cultural organization National Integrated Forum of Artists and Activists (NIFAA signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Global Rainbow Foundation of Mauritius to conduct activities together in good faith for the mutual benefit of the society & people of both the nations & especially for the welfare of physically and mentally handicapped children. While NIFAA is a leading socio cultural organization of India, which was adjudged as best youth organization of the country & honoured with national youth award by Government of India while on the other hand Global Rainbow Foundation (GRF) is a charitable trust of Mauritius which aims at supporting persons with disabilities. GRF’s mission is to mobilize all available resources from well-wishers in Mauritius, Rodrigues, Agalega, India, Senegal, China, France, Kenya, South Africa and other countries, formulate and coordinate multifarious activities in order to unleash the hidden talents and unexplored potential of differently abled persons and vulnerable groups. NIFAA chairman Pritpal Singh Pannu signed an important MOU during his recent visit to Mauritius while on the behalf of GRF, MOU was signed by its founder president Armoogum Parsuramen, who is former education minister of Mauritius and also he remained director UNESCO for whole ASIA and Africa. Impressed with the consistent awareness work of NIFAA and especially its achievements in performing art, GRF president Parsuramen to expressed his willing to establish a long term relationship between NIFAA & GRF to conduct different activities for the benefit of the society as well as to achieve mutual goals Both organizations will work together to empower mentally and physically handicapped children. Giving detail of contents of MOU, Pritpal Singh Pannu, chairman NIFAA said that NIFAA shall be instrumental in training need assessment of this area by partnering with GRF and making available large pool of experts from India. For this a delegation of experts from India can visit related institutions and NGOs of Mauritius and prepare a detailed time bound Action Plan to be worked on. NIFAA and GRF will jointly Implement and coordinate the exchange programme among schools and NGOs so as to facilitate knowledge sharing and enhance the potential abilities of the children with special emphasis on the disabled and also to provide a new platform of exposure. This will be begin with NIFAA experts preparing performing art items with the help of Mauritian and Indian artists. Both organizations shall be committed to develop, promote and support at national and international level the strategies for training and employment of the disabled persons in various fields included but not limited to the areas like Empowerment of Specially Abled Children through their identification, Training Need assessment, Designing and Imparting Trainings, Identification & Development Job Oriented Skills along with sales, marketing and Business Development Assistance. To achieve the target joint workshops and events on performing arts for normal and special children will be conducted. Both organization will come together to develop and promote documentary videos of special children. NIFAA shall also be responsible for facilitating visits of GRF nominees to select Indian institutions for providing exposure to latest teaching, training & development techniques and modern & innovative technologies in use. As a 1st initiative under this MOU, GRF President and former director of UNESCO Parsuramen will visit India in the month of September and NIFAA will facilitate his meetings and visits with Indian institutions and NGO’s working for the treatment and rehabilitation of special children. It is also worth mentioning that on last July 7, GRF and NIFAA had organized a workshop for NGO’s of Mauritius to know & discuss various innovative modes to care & rehabilitate special children. Workshop was conducted at Indira Gandhi Center for Indian Culture, phoenix in Mauritius. After visit of Armoogum Parsuramen, NIFAA artists and teachers will participate and train the interested parties in Mauritius for a joint performance in the celebration of “150 years of Arrival of Indian Migrants in Mauritius” which will be held in the month of November 2014. NIFAA chairman Pritpal Singh Pannu said that sigining MOU with a reputed International body is a rare and remarkable achievement for NIFAA as it will open new avenues for Indian teachers, counselors and artists to show their talent in Mauritius.
