In a separate letter to Government of Delhi party MPs, MLAs and State President have demanded that the Delhi Government declare Chhath Pooja day as a public holiday in Delhi and make best possible arrangement for Chhath Pooja. Jal Board and Irrigation Department should ensure proper water at Ghats while for safe pooja Disaster Management Squads be posted at Railway Stations and Chhath Pooja Ghats. The delegation comprised of MPs Shri Ramesh Bidhuri, Shri Maheish Girri, Shri Manoj Tiwari, MLAs Sardar R.P. Singh, Shri Sahab Singh Chauhan, Shri Mohan Singh Bisht, Vice President Shri Abhay Verma, General Secretaries Smt. Sikha Rai, Shri Jai Prakash and others met the Chief Secretary and later visited the major ITO Pooja Ghat to monitor the arrangements being made.
