In a strange twist regarding last nights action in court, the Mississippi Rural Water Association was actually asking a federal judge to issue a temporary injunction (essentially a restraining order) against me and the Public Service Commission from giving assistance to domestic violence victims by ordering a waiver of their utility deposits for sixty days. Let that sink in a minute. This organization wanted a restraining order issued against the Public Service Commission to stop us from enforcing a rule that assists victims. Luckily, a federal judge saw right through the request and tossed the request for the temporary injunction and their whole lawsuit. What a waste of money and effort. In the end, the facts and the law prevailed.
