In actually reading into this there are REQUIRED vaccines and other protocol for newborns regardless of race and birth method which differs state to state and are solid laws. This isnt picking on her for home birth but for refusing simple mandatory medical procedures which turned this whole thing bigger than it really is. Albeit this was poorly handled, but it really is a matter for the dhs and police when someone blatantly tries to avoid things that could affect public safety. Sure vaccines arent 100% but there is still polio out there, and what about the recent measles outbreak? I choose to vaccinate with both mandatory and optional vaccines to protect my children from those that are not vaccinated and have the ability to sicken entire communitys with their parents negligence. Come on people. There are laws surrounding certain medical procedures for a reason.
