In addition to the virtual race suggestion I made before - I also have another whacky idea... The approximate distance of the big run is about 5400km, now it has been redirected to take in Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney, Gold Coast (as well as Perth and Brisbane, obviously). So heres what I am thinking.... how cool would it be for a virtual event where minions (and friends of minions) each commit to running a certain distance during a period of time, combining to give a total roughly equal to the distance I need to run in 2015? Obviously the distance to be run by each individual would vary according to how many people are involved in total! The basic idea though would be for minions to invite their friends and family to make donations, and for individual run distances to be added into a central count - aiming to hit the magic 5400km I may actually check that distance again based on driving rather than walking - because the run will have to follow a route that a support vehicle will be able to follow too!
