In aiming to improve the quality of life for the Lamitenos, through delivery of quality and efficient basic health and social services, Mayor Rose Furigay, together with City Health Medical Officer Dr. Vicente P. Yu, choose to be part of the Health Leadership for the Poor Program of the Zhuellig Family Foundation in partnership with DOH-ARMM. Together, Mayor Rose and Dr. Yu signed the learning contract/agreement yesterday, Nov. 04, 2014, as a manifesto of their commitment to the said program. This Health Leadership for the Poor Program (HLP) will aid our Local Chief Executive in close partnership with her City Health Officer to be able to respond better and effectively address the existing health challenges/ difficulties of our city. The Local Chief Executives as well as the Medical Health Officers of our neighboring municipalities will also be joining this program.Thus, we would like to thank our Regional Governor Hon. Mujiv S. Hataman for choosing Basilan to be part of HLP. Let us all pray for their success as they go through this program for their success will only mean better lives for everyone not only in Lamitan, but for the entire Basilan Province. Good luck Mayor Rose and Dr. Yu! Good luck to all our Local Chief Executives of Basilan as well as to their respective Health Officers!
