In all of the water and fish battles that I write about, privatization of the public trust - and the corporate money behind the drive to privatize - is at the core of the problem. Unfortunately, Im about the only environmental journalist who consistently covers the corruption, conflicts of interest and drive to privatize behind the current water and fish issues in California. The mainstream media, most of the alternative media and most environmental NGOs, even the good ones, are deadly afraid of even mentioning the conflicts of interest and corruption that are behind the drive to privatize water, the oceans, conservation and all natural resources in California.
