In all seriousness, lets be honest now.. We are Muslims. We follow the Islamic calendar, our new year started over 2 months ago.. We are in the year 1436 after hijrah. True we live in countries where they follow the other calendar but it doesnt give us reason to celebrate and go crazy. Say Alhamdulilah. Allah swt blessed you with the gift of life and good health. How many people do we know who we lost in the year 2014? Ive attended many janazahs this year and at the start of 2014 I have to be honest, I did NOT think we would be going into 2015 without our beloved Farah. Allah swt can choose to take anyone whenever He likes. That includes me and you. It could be written that in 2015, you will die. Only Allah knows. So if you want to make new years resolutions then at least make them beneficial for your akhirah. Choose to be closer to God this year. Without fail, make sure you pray your 5 daily prayers. Visit the masjid more often. Visit and call your parents regularly. Learn more Quran. Join an Islamic class. There is so much you can improve on from last year, just sit down and reflect. Most importantly, just take a moment to thank Allah swt for everything he has blessed you with. There are millions around the world who wish they were in your position. Are you grateful? #2015
