In all the Counties i frequently visit either on my official assignments, private matters or community works nobody talks about 2017 general elections and politics like the people of Baringo County. People are focusing on the current issues affecting their Counties and its people. In fact nobody even knows who are the likely candidates for the various elective positions. People are engaged in their various businesses with no regard to politics. If there are any issues they bring to the attention of relevant authorities and no mention of 2017. What is this fixation to politics in Baringo County. I really encourage our people to deal with the various challenges affecting their lives and livelihoods, work with the relevant authorities and officers without politicising everything with an eye focused on 2017 politics and elections. The next general election is more than three years from now. Lets not waste these three good years engaging in meaningless, destructive, disruptive and other activities which are not helpful to the development of our County. We need to unite as the people of Baringo County and put our best footh forward to ensure that development projects and programmes are implemented to better the peoples lives. Lets us put 2017 politics in abeyance and bring all our energies together to solve the myriad problems facing our people in the County. Baringo County is bigger than individual interests and bigger than all of us. I also request the various political aspirants to tone down their early campaigns to enable Wananchi pay attention to the real issues of the day and assist them where necessary and applicable to solve the community problems in their individual or collective capacity. This is idea of doing things with 2017 in mind is really retrogressive. Lets desist from it and honestly, and faithfully serve our people without looking at the future political rate of returns. Remember there are many of our people who are committed to serving the society with no political interests in mind. This is the the kind of mindset that we need to encourage and advocate.
