In all the Doom & Gloom going on in ‘My’ football world at the moment a shining light has come to the fore Recently the Brisbane Roar FC ‘Possibility’ Program & the Brisbane Paralympic Football Program lost a young lady who had just turned 18 due to medical complications Many members of both programs attended her memorial in a show of respect to Emma’s family & to let them know we as a football community shared their grief It was then that one of our Brisbane Roar W-League players Brooke Spence’ the ‘Ambassador’ of the ‘BPFP’ decided she would like to show her respect in the proper fashion Brooke with the assistance of Belinda Wilson Head Coach of the ladies squad approached the club & with the assistance of the Brisbane Roar ‘Community’ manager Andy Pinches it has been arranged for the Ladies game on Saturday 29th of Nov @ Suncorp be dedicated to an Inspiring young lady ‘Emma Pascoe’ There will be a short recognition before the start of the game & the girls will wear black arm bands in a show of support The Brisbane Roar FC have supplied tickets for Maree & Wayne Pascoe & many family members & friends to attend this match Andy Pinches has also arranged for tickets for a few of the coaches from the BPFP It is moments like these that make me very proud to be involved with the Brisbane Roar FC & I hope that as many supporters of the club take the time to show they also appreciate this wonderful gesture When times get tough I believe if we all join together forget about the politics & negatives surrounding current situations in our lives & just concentrate on the good positive times we have had or will have in what can be an exciting future if we allow it This is a great opportunity to show the community that all football followers care so please make the extra effort to be present at the beginning of the ladies game that kicks off at 01.00pm this weekend Many thanks to everyone involved Jay Larkins Head Coach BPFP
