In an almost unprecedented move, Alberta has replaced one of its environmental regulators with a private group directly funded by the oil industry: allowing future decisions to bypass real regulators entirely. The problems are much actually much bigger, and this is only the tip of the iceberg. Stop the Tar Sands and the many pipelines being built to transport it (including the most famous: Keystone XL).
