In an argument with my sister i used a word that apparently violates Facebook policy so they removed the ENTIRE post... Free speech aside here is the post again, the context is my sister getting an absolutely absurd tattoo of Buddha on her arm... If I was Jewish and dyslexic and wanted an up-side-down Star of David on my arm - I hope people would talk me out of it... it might have some sort of significance to me.... but it is also the symbol for another non desirable religion... Do what you will sweetie - despite better judgment. You cant afford more bad karma though. What you are about to have imprinted on your body is an affront, a travesty, and stupid. You are acting like a spoiled, petulant child who knows better than anyone else - acting out of ignorance and spite. Actually worse than ignorance, because now you know the level of disrespect and dont care.... The I can and you cant stop me attitude is horrific - You should be better than this. You were taught how to think critically, but you are not. You were taught how to consider all sides and debate, but you dont. This is a fail - you fail. I love tattoos and Im not saying dont get one. Body art can be deep and powerful and meaningful. But this? This is nonsense. This is offensive. This is a kick in teeth of everything some people hold dear - you are wrong and moving forward is wrong. Your decision is a disappointment. When thinking about respect - think of respect for people who believe in the truth of Buddhism. If you have this printed on your body - I hope all you can recall when you see it is my utter disappointment. When you look at it - I hope what you see is conflict, and offense. I hope it serves as a reminder of your lack of respect for honorable ideas. If you get it - let it be a reminder of that… Of how you care so little for everyone who holds you dear. Let it be a symbol of how your judgment continues to fail you. Let it remind you, that, by being self-centered, self-serving, and self-gratifying, you are alone. Only by accepting THAT truth will you break from this spiral of loathing and become that sparrow on your chest - free and at peace.
