In an interview with the Press Trust of India, Rahul Gandhi said that he did not see the Lok Sabha election as virtually a presidential style contest between him and Modi. It is a clash between two ideas of India. The Congresa represents an idea which respects the liberty and dignity of every one of our countrymen by upholding the ideals of himanity and inclusion, whereas the BJP wants an India in which there is no place for the poor, no place for those with a different religion or ideology. Though the validity of the latter part of his statement is severely questionable, I can appreciate the former part.
