In appreciation of a picker. I was at the market this morning - TopicsExpress

In appreciation of a picker. I was at the market this morning helping a friend out. I saw this big fellow walk buy. He was dressed in a very colour full top and what would appear to be some sort of skirt. I new he had to be a picker. Not a big deal. A bit later I took a stroll down the market to see what was there. I saw this same fellow in a stall. He had some neat stuff spread out on the ground. How many of you know what A didgeridoo is? He had half a dozen lying there. One he had look similar to this one. He also had some really great walking sticks. One in particular impressed me. It was made from a twisted birch branch. He had carved it in the image of a snake up the whole length with a perfect head on the top. I asked him where he was from and it was Quebec. He did the carvings himself. He picked up The didgeridoo that was similar to this one and played a bit for me. He had brought this stuff from Quebec. He was also a picker. He was a big, friendly guy with a ready smile. He brought a small bit of his culture to this community.
