In banking, we often meet people of great wealth. We also meet folks who are trying to achieve financial success. And still, there are others who barely make enough money to get by, and actually go deeper in the hole, with every day that passes. We’ve also met folks, wealthy and poor, who are among the first to help others in any way they can—and others who would pass you by, as you lay in the street. In the end, the benchmark for success in any man or woman’s life is rarely found with what they have on a balance sheet or income statement, and more often found in the balance they create with their time and in their space, in demonstrating love to others. Because in the end, no one’s taking any money with them. Mother Teresa once said, “Love cannot remain by itself — it has no meaning. Love has to be put into action, and that action is service.” Serve others, today, in your own special way, and thrive!
