In case anyone is wondering why I have been active in sharing stories and issues regarding mental health, I have returned this year to volunteer advocacy work within the mental health system and accepted the nomination and joined the Nova Scotia Board of Directors for the Schizophrenia Society awhile ago. Many would remember my previous work as President of the Canadian Mental Health Association. Being a born advocate and passionate about removing stigma and fighting for people to get the help they need (we all need), I look forward to picking up where I left off 15 years ago. People wonder how my work in real estate and mental health go together. It is this simple: we are all directly or indirectly affected by mental health issues. In fact, none of us are exempt.
