In case you are making plans to head for the US tomorrow evening: Issued at 2015-01-01 3:16PM CST by Environment Canada: Special weather statement issued for: Steinbach - St. Adolphe - Dominion City - Vita - Richer, Man. Current details: Heavy snowfall likely Friday night for parts of Southern Manitoba. A weak low pressure system will bring another skift of snow to Southern Manitoba tonight. No significant accumulations are expected tonight. However, a more intense weather system is expected to pass by Friday night bringing the likelihood of heavy snow to parts of Southern Manitoba. Around 10 to 15 cm of snow will fall Friday night with the highest snowfall amounts likely near the international border. Gusty winds will make for blustery conditions and poor visibilities at times. At this time it looks like Winnipeg and the Northern Red River Valley will escape the heaviest snow but this depends on the weather system tracking exactly as expected. This weather system will push off Saturday morning leaving temperatures well below normal for the rest of the weekend and beyond. The public is advised to monitor future forecasts and warnings as warnings may be required or extended. Latest information is always available here: weather.gc.ca/warnings/index_e.html
