In commemoration of Louis Armstrong’s achievement of knocking the Beatles off the chart to hit #1 with Hello Dolly!, there in an event in New York City, of course. On Saturday, the American Museum of the Moving Image in Queens celebrates with a dessert reception at 1 p.m., followed by a screening of “Hello, Dolly!” the film. Seldom-seen footage of Satchmo’s performances will also be shown, from the archives of the Louis Armstrong House and Museum. The $12 ticket includes admission to the Museum of the Moving Image and a pass to the Armstrong museum in Corona, Queens. Thanks New York Times!
