In conjunction with the UN declaration of the year 2015 as the International Year of Soils (IYS), Oyez!Books is calling for submissions of relevant manuscript for children. The IYS aims to be a platform for raising awareness of the importance of soils for food security and essential eco-system functions. What manuscript are they looking for? Oyez!Books: We are looking for stories or informative manuscript suitable for children age 6-14. The format can be picture books (preferred) - 1000 words or less, infographics (at least 20 pages), or chapter books - 15,000 words or less. In view of the short time frame - we are only accepting manuscript from January to end March - full illustrations are not necessary, sketches are sufficient. However, we do not accept book proposals. Text must be complete for picture books. A complete outline must be provided for chapter books with at least two completed chapters. The context of the story must be Malaysian.
