In defiance of reason and common sense I purchased another Land Rover. This one is a modified turbo diesel 110 Defender with long range tanks, dual battery systems, off road lights , winch and extra tow hooks, security glass, side lockers , bull bars, galvanized frame, and a huge howling moon roof tent. It is only 8000 miles away in Africa on its way to a shop where I’m having the suspension beefed up and , most importantly, a stereo installed . I’m going to be living in it for much of the winter, and I have yet to actually lay eyes on the beast. If I survive it will be for sale after I’m done. Given the chance that I’m likely to end up projectile vomiting and bleeding from the eyeballs in a few months I figure the least I can do is arrive there in style.
