In each performance of Mark OConnors The Improvised Violin - TopicsExpress

In each performance of Mark OConnors The Improvised Violin Concerto, the entire violin solo line is completely improvised and invented on stage. The piece of music has been performed approximately fifteen times since its premiere a couple years ago in 2011 (this film was taken of the world premiere in Boston Symphony Hall). Each measure and every note of each measure of the violin solo, is different each time and unique from any other performance of the piece. On each performance, the solo violin line is a completely spontaneous invention. The music and orchestration for the symphony orchestra and conductor was composed and arranged by OConnor and does not contain any improvisation. Mark OConnor - composer and violin, Boston Youth symphony Orchestras with Federico Cortese conducting.
