In early June, the Wyoming Veterans Museum, along with the National Historic Trails Interpretive Center, the Fort Caspar Museum, the Western History Center at Casper College, with assistance provided by the Natrona County School District, conducted our first Casper Future Historians Summer Camp. This week-long immersion event provided fifteen middle school aged students with an opportunity to learn about the history of Casper and Wyoming, and to learn about career opportunities in the history field. Among their weekly activities, our students prepared interpretive trailers for the camp, and then a short interpretive video presenting their experiences during the week-long camp. Today we are going to present one of the trailers, that prepared the students for their week-long history camp! Our first Future Historians Summer Camp was an overwhelming success, and our team will again present an expanded summer camp for the youth of Casper and Natrona County next June. The Wyoming Veterans Memorial Museum is open until 4:00 p.m. today, Saturday, July 19, 2014.
