In early September we were hanging flyers for Dutchess the lost cat. We came across a barn in Milesburg that had a huge amount of barn cats. Sadly, none of them were Dutchess. While we were there we noticed a very small pretty kitty with big green eyes standing by the front door of the farmhouse. All of the other cats were staying hidden or were in the barn yet this sweet little one would just sit at the front door waiting to go in the house. After speaking to the owner of the house she said the little kitty just showed up out of nowhere a little more than a month ago. She said the kitty was so sick that she didnt think she would make it. And she said the kitty would always try to get in the house and that she does not allow the cats in the house. The little dumped kitty managed to survive on cows milk the farmer feeds them. Now remember we see tons and tons of cats all the time while out looking for lost pets. We obviously cant take all the cats home but every once in awhile one will catch your heart. This was that one that did. There were probably 50 on that farm. I (Christa) left her at the farm that afternoon but I could not get her out of my mind so I went back and scooped her up. I took her right from the farm to Metzgers to have a checkup. To my surprise this tiny furry 3.7 pound kitten turned out to be a full grown cat that was at least a year old. I was informed she may gain weight but will always be the size of a kitten. Her start to her life obviously was very rough. Ever since that day she has been recuperating at my house with my family. She is my husbands office mate in our basement while he works. Since being here she has gained a huge amount of weight. She is well over 6 pounds now. She loves my children and doesnt even mind my big horse of a dog and she ignores my older grouchy cat. She is extremely playful and always wants to be near someone so that they will pay attention to her. She is the biggest lap cat and lover you will meet. I have gotten her 100% vetted plus more. She was combo tested and was negative. She was also Felv vaccinated. She has received her rabies and distemper shots. She is flea treated, ears cleaned, and wormed. She was spayed almost two weeks ago and has healed well. Plus, I got her microchipped in case she ever goes missing. The microchip can be transferred into her new families name. I have spent around $225 in vetting on her and that is with a free spay from PAWS. All I would like for her is a loving forever indoor home. Everything I have invested in the little girl the last two months will all be worth if I can find her that forever family. Our family calls the little girl IVY because of her big green eyes. If you are considering adding a small little fluffy kitty to your home this is the girl for you. Please message our page if you might be her new family that she is waiting for. If her new family would like to make a donation to help the next animal that is fine as well. Any type of gift cards to Walmart or Staples. The cost of flyers and food to stock the traps can expensive for our group.****.
