In fact the argument and defences of the anomalies we are all - TopicsExpress

In fact the argument and defences of the anomalies we are all facing in todays Ghana, justify why the publication of my book is very critical. A lot of those defending tribalism in Ghana, are doing this based on shallow view of the situation. Most will openly deny being tribal, and clearly because of their shallow understanding of the concept. Those who see tribals as mere groups, like any other, see nothing wrong with tribalism. Unfortunately, a tribal body is far beyond a group. It is actually a nation. So if Ghana is a nation and a tribal body is also a nation, is it not dangerous for the claim on the loyalty of Ghanaian to be thorn two nations at birth? Apart from religion and family, no institution has such grave claim on the Ghanaian if not the tribe. So the existence of tribal groups are automatic threat to the unity of the bigger entity of Ghana. The Scottish threat of independence which turned out to be fortunately NO could have broken up the United Kingdom. Other nations would have done the same thing in bringing this great Union to ruin. The president of Ghana John Dramani Mahama will himself deny being tribal or a sympathiser. The fact is, he is the head of tribalism and seriously exploiting it at the general expense of Ghanaians. The questions, if tribalism is actively in our lives, then who is? I am setting up the premises to take the monster on openly. It is in our nations interest to openly know what we are all actively doing, yet denying. It is evil but presented as angelic. Confronting it, like the Scottish Referendum for independence, is the only chance we have in deciding whether Ghana is going to be a true modern republican democratic nation or recede back to the days of true tribal kingdoms? We have to talk this properly and openly, for Ghanaians to know where they stand with 80% of their land in tribal, clan and family hands.
