In first grade, willow is already getting into some advanced math, including geometry. Thats good. ..When I was in high school, we were given a choice to take general or advanced math. I took general math because I hated the subject. ..When I started engineering school (at age 28) I was told I needed to take algebra. I couldnt understand the book. It was gibberish to me. ..A woman across the street had just graduated from Ohio State with a Bachelors in Elementary Education. I asked her for help and was told that she had never had algebra. ..I went to my book collection and found a math book printed in 1856. It was simple and easy to understand. I used that book in place of the one required and breezed through the course. ..What does that say about our education system?
