In forty years time there will be no Ayungin shoal. Sea level rise - TopicsExpress

In forty years time there will be no Ayungin shoal. Sea level rise will take care of that. There will be no resources left to fight over, as all the fish and coral reefs will be dead, from a system that exploits life for profit and leaves death in its wake. There will be no sea left to fish in, no endangered marine life to put up on sale for American tourists to enjoy or Chinese fisherman to poach - only oil-stained beaches to advertise in DOT ads, beaches where Filipino women will sell their bodies to men in uniform because our government spent billions on war and privatised their education. All the money we wasted on arms to protect the ruling class masturbatory dreams of world market domination - money we could have spent investing in peoples lives - will be gone. And we will look back to see our pampered elites of today, utterly detached from the needs of humanity on the ground, threatening to ignite a regional war over national boundaries drawn on a map. Abstract lines that will again determine who lives and who dies, who profits from another massacre, who exists in this world only to die in defence of the whims of the powerful. And all our ships and all our guns and jets will count as nothing. And all the Binibining Pilipinas contestants in this world of Bread and Circuses will say, World Peace, before laughing at their audience of skeletons. Its pathetic. And so very, very funny.
